A flagship stunner for less than $500
Honor smartphones have always struck the right balance of flashy yet affordable. And the Chinese company’s latest outing – the Honor 10 – looks to keep up that tradition.
For starters, its all-glass design is a stunner to look at, built from 15 layers of 3D glass the Honor 10 shimmers either blue or purple depending on how the light hits it. It’s rocking a 5.84in Full HD display with a 19:9 screen ratio and appropriately skinny bezels. It also has a notch, which in 2018 seems to be par for the course.
Aside from its handsome good looks, the Honor 10 also borrows some AI smarts from its cousin, the Huawei P20 Pro. Namely, a 24MP + 16MP rear camera setup that’s powered by a built-in NPU, giving it the ability to cleverly recognise over 500 different scenes (from pets to plants to people) and adjust your snapping accordingly. If it works as well as it does on the P20 Pro, then your Instagram game is about to get a major upgrade.
The front facing camera also has a massive 24MP sensor and AI, with support for 3D facial recognition. If you can’t manage a decent selfie with that kind of horsepower, then we have no hope for you.
Elsewhere the Honor 10 is loaded with the same Kirin 970 CPU found in the Huawei P20 Pro, so you know its plenty powerful. The UAE version also sports a 4GB of RAM/128GB of storage combo which should making zipping around Honor’s EMUI 8.1 Android skin as fast as possible. It also has a perfectly serviceable 3,400mAh battery and Honor’s Super Charge is supported.
The Honor 10 will be available in the UAE from 22 May for US$460.
