Between 6-8 April, thousands of pop culture aficionados will descend en masse upon the Dubai World Trade Centre to get their fill of a veritable cornucopia of nerdy delights.

The Middle East Film & Comic Con is back, and we’ve put together the ultimate vade mecum to help ensure you miss none of the action.

Over the next few days we’ll be giving you our recommendations of what to check out over the whole geektastic weekend.

The inaugural MEFCC Dodgeball Cup will take place, letting participants hurl foam spheres at each other for bragging rights. It’ll be hosted by celebrity guest judges Missi Pyle and Jamal Duff from the classic Ben Stiller comedy about the sport.

Star Treak: 50 Artists. 50 Years.

This year’s convention will feature an exhibit showcasing 50 works from over a half century, inspired by the popular television show, including a piece by Spock himself, the late Leonard Nemoy.

Cosplay Competition

Always a yearly highlight, the this year’s cosplay competition is hosted by Splash! and sees some of the most creative amateur costumers from around the regions. Expect massive hair, and even massive-r prizes.

Artist Alley

For the first time, MEFCC is opening up its artists alley to over 30 international talents including heavyweights such as Simone Bianchi, Des Taylor and Elly Prizeman. You be able to meet and greet them on the show floor.

Check out the MEFCC website for a full list of guests, and don’t forget to visit the Stuff stand for some cool activations and giveaways. See you at the con!
