While the rest of the world prepares itself for the onslaught of deals that come along with the annual Black Friday sales, we in the GCC wait in eager anticipation for regional online retailer Souq (now owned by e-commerce giant Amazon) to open the floodgates on its ‘White Friday’ equivalent.

And it looks like they’re not going to disappoint. The massive sale on electronics is set to kick off on Wednesday 22 November and run until Saturday 25 November, with deals of up to 70 per cent cropping up over the four day period.

Souq has been tight lipped on what specific products will be seeing price drops (you’ll have to visit the site on the day to find out), but it has revealed that there will be in excess of 500,000 deals across 16,000 brands – that’s 50 times more than last year.

Bargain hunters can expect discounts on everything from smartphones, TVs, cameras, video games and loads more from the likes of Samsung, Huawei, Lenovo, HP, Xiaomi, OnePlus and Hisense – it could be the perfect opportunity to upgrade your gadget arsenal.

Want our top tip to stay ahead of the deals?

Log in to souq.com with your existing account and load up your shopping cart with the products you think (and hope!) might see a price drop. You will then receive updates and alerts on any discounts and price changes to those products so you won’t have to go hunting around the site to keep track.

Check back next week as we sniff out and bring you the best deals the the year’s biggest online electronics shopping festival has to offer.
