When our love of bricks and flying things meets

The Dubai International Motor Show is currently underway in Dubai, with over 550 cars and bikes on display from some of the world’s leading manufacturers.

In amongst the all the supercars, self-driving automobiles and flying taxis (yup, those are a thing!) the most interesting thing that caught Stuff’s eye was the prototype of a hoverbike from BMW taking centre stage at the Dubai Police stand.

Keen visitors to our site may remember earlier this year when we built a LEGO Technic motorbike for your viewing pleasure on YouTube:

Well, the alternate build for that bike happened to be a concept hoverbike that the Danish toy company had designed in collaboration with BMW, who loved it so much they made a life-sized model of it.

How it found its way to Dubai Police is anyone’s guess, but boy are we glad it did because it’s one of the coolest things we’ve seen in ages.

You can catch a glimpse of it at the end of the video below, or head down to the Dubai World Trade Centre between now and Saturday 18 November to check it out in person.
