We have everything we could possibly want in this world, right? Wrong! Or at least that’s what the creators of all these upcoming products will tell you. As natural creatures of curiosity we are always chasing the next big thing to stand out and be better than the rest, and believe us, by having any one of the next few items on our list of the coolest gadgets this year; you will definitely be the envy of all your friends.

Google Glass

According to the experts at Google, these glasses are said to be the next big step in technology and the hype surrounding their release is huge. Their mere existence conjures up discussions of privacy, social interaction and just how far we can go with wearable computing technology like this. The software is voice activated and is triggered by saying “ok glass” followed by your command, for example, “take a picture”. You will be able to have access to your emails, pictures, social networks and even GPS technology. With a price tag of $1500 though, we think that some Electronic Coupons would come in very handy on your way to getting a pair of your own.

3D Printers

If you haven’t already heard of 3D printing, you soon will. This technology has been around for a few years now but only recently have we been starting to use it in more consumer focused industries such as the health sector where they can design and create hearing aids for real life use for example. It’s the process of making three-dimensional solid objects from the digital designs you draw up on your computer. The only drawback is the price, costing anywhere from $1000 to $600,000 for the printer, the blueprints and its gadgets.

Nvidia Project SHIELD

For all the gamers out there, this should be an exciting new entry to the market. The SHIELD is a portable gaming device for gamers who never want to stop playing, even when on the road. You will be able to take this Android device with you and play anywhere you go thanks to it having the world’s fastest processor built in, as well as Wi-Fi, a multi touch display and a custom high quality audio system. Will you be one of the first lucky people to play it?
