Xbox Live landing in the UAE and Saudi Arabia on October 23
Xbox Live gives you access to thousands of Arcade and Games on Demand titles courtesy of Live Marketplace, along with regional multiplayer matches and online co-op. In short, it’s the best thing to happen to Microsoft Games out here since since it first slapped a green X to a console.
No doubt giving thousands of gamers what they wanted to hear, Aman Sangar, Interactive Entertainment Business Category Lead for the Xbox Middle East and Africa said, “with the launch of Xbox LIVE in both the UAE and KSA, we’re able to offer Xbox 360 fans a premiere on-demand content offering that’s entirely new to the Middle East”. Did we hear a whoop! at the back?
“This is only the beginning as we will continue to roll out more service. It marks another step toward our vision for LIVE – to deliver innovative entertainment experiences and exciting new ways to keep in touch with people you care about, wherever they are around the world.”
It’s no surprise that Xbox Live is landing in the region at the end of October – Microsoft has two big titles, Halo 4 and Forza: Horizon – both with big multiplayer components – ready to launch at the beginning of November.
Basic Xbox Live (access to Marketplace and the like) will be free starting October 23.
A 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscription will cost US$57 (Dhs210).
You can also bag yourself a free 12-month subscription if you buy a Cisco EA4500 router for US$245.
