Microsoft’s answer to motion control could soon be yours, along with a brand new Xbox 360 Slim
When we get around to finishing the hyper drive in the garage, we’ll happily travel through space/time into the future. We’ll see flying cars, bionic body parts and Happy Meals that come entirely in pill form. But there’ll also be new video games, ones that require no controls other than the odd wink, mumble or head scratch (gamers never were the most active bunch).
Until that happens, you’ll have to make-do with Microsoft’s futuristic Kinect. It gives you controller-free motion gaming, not to mention voice and facial recognition technology. It tracks your every arm-flail and hip-wiggle, and the built-in mic lets you give your Xbox Slim voice commands to pause and play games, movies and music. Maybe we don’t need the hyper drive, after all.
