New Batman game will be a ‘highly stylised’ prequel

With Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City grittier than a half-paved road, Rocksteady Studios’ wants to break the mold. It’s next title will feature the Caped Crusader in a highly-stylized prequel.

According to Hollywood bible Variety, the as-yet-unnamed title will be a “highly stylised” prequel revolving around Batman’s first meeting with the Joker, and will be based on the 1950s-era “Silver Age” of DC’s comic. It may also feature the Justice League of America, the superhero team formed when Bats allied himself with Superman, Wonder Woman and the Flash.

If that sounds exciting, here’s one sad little nugget to temper your joy: the game is unlikely to surface before 2014. Ah well, back to Arkham City it is…
