Temple Run: Brave, Frogger and more [Best iPhone apps of the week]
Temple Run: Brave US$0.99
Temple Run addiction? We can empathise. Now with Disney Pixar getting in on the action, bringing the world of Brave to the iPhone game, chances are we’ll be hitting the app store for another round. Generally, the gameplay sticks to what we know and love, but does include a few nifty new features, including a bow and arrow for shooting cretins as you dash.
Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition US$0.99
Unless you’ve been living under pondweed all your life, you should be at least vaguely familiar with Frogger, the reptile with the world’s biggest death wish. Celebrating the character’s 30th anniversary (how he’s managed to live so long is beyond us) the new game offers a choice between retro or HD visuals. How does he keep getting stuck on the other side of that damn road?
Einstein Brain Trainer US$4.99
Want a brain like Einstein’s? Well, we can’t promise it’s going to happen overnight, but the range of daily activities in this app should give that grey matter a solid workout. Reminds us of the Nintendo DS’s Brain Training – only a fair bit cheaper.
Astronaut Spacewalk US$4.99
Gravity getting you down? Break free from planet Earth with this astronaut jetpack simulator. The app comes packed with 20 missions to try your hand at, which include carrying out various tasks and repairs in space. The developers claim it’s “highly realistic”. We’ll take their word for it – until we get up there ourselves.
London Official City Guide US$Free
If you’re traveling to London for the Olympics, you find it nigh on impossible to keep up with everything the city has on offer, we may have the solution for you. Offering a handy index of events, landmarks and hidden gems, London Official City Guide is perfect for tourists and city dwellers alike.
