Leica X2 compact camera outed
The Leica X1 still doesn’t look outdated – if you ignore the cool retro design – yet already the Leica X2 has appeared. Looking just as gorgeous, the X2 is, according to Leica, the next generation in high-performance compact digital cameras.
So what makes it better than the X1? The APS-C format CMOS sensor packs in 16.5MP (over the X1’s 12MP) to capture everything from the Elmarit 24mm f/2.8 ASPH lens – once again delivering SLR quality shots in a compact camera body.
There’s also an improved auto focus system for faster, more precise shots. Leica also claims the larger sensor makes it better in low light conditions, lowering noise and improving the dynamic range of colours. And with a 2.7in LCD you’ll be able to bask in your photographic genius instantly.
The bad part is that your new Leica X2, in black or silver, will set you back a wallet melting US$2,580. But it is a Leica and it is out this month.
