Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF5: World’s fastest autofocus MFT cam

Panasonic has outed the Lumix DMC-GF5, the world’s fastest autofocus Micro Four Thirds camera, capable of locking in on its subject in 0.09 seconds.
And a zippier eyeball isn’t the only improvement Panny’s added to the GF5’s spec sheet. Although, like the Panasonic Lumix GF3, it has a 12MP sensor, Panasonic reckons this new sensor – paired with the Venus processing engine – gives you quality equivalent to a 16MP camera.
Panny’s also added AVCHD and MP4 support for movies, plus a stereo mic. Other improvements include a pronounced leather handgrip, new filters and effects, plus an overhauled user interface.
It’ll be available come May or June in a choice of black or white, and will set you back in the region of US$715 with a standard (14-42mm) kit lens.![]()
