LG’s quad-core X3, set to debut at Mobile World Congress, has been benchmarked by the chaps at MoDaCo. And its rumoured Tegra 3 processor – unsurprisingly – far outstrips the competition.

As you can see from the graph, the LG X3 benched at 4412 points in new Quadrant, versus around 2000 for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

The phone, known internally as the P880, reportedly runs at 1.5GHz on a single core and drops to 1.4GHz on multiple cores to preserve battery life.

Other specs leaked by MoDaCo include a 4.7in 720p screen, a 2000mAh battery and 16GB of onboard memory, expandable via a microSD slot.

Camera-wise, the X3 will arrive sporting an 8MP snapper and a 1.3MP front-facing camera.

The X3 will launch running Android 4.0.3, with a 2.6.39 kernel according to the leaked screenshots.

The real question, of course, is how the X3 will fare against other quad-core Tegra 3 smartphones such as the HTC Endeavor, also set for an airing at MWC.
