GTA V release date to be announced “in a few months”

Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V is sure to be a game of the year contender when it comes out – but which year, that’s the question.

We should be finding out fairly soon – in response to questions from fans, a Rockstar rep revealed that details of GTA V’s release date will be revealed in a few months time.

“First of all, we’d like to again thank you and everyone out there for the amazing response to the debut Grand Theft Auto V trailer,” Rockstar’s statement reads. “We know that there are a ton of questions you all have about the game, including release date and lots else.”

“Right now, we are very hard at work on the game and are excited as well to show and tell you more as development progresses – expect that we’ll be talking much more about GTA V starting at some point in a few months time. Please hang tight until then and thank you all for your patience and support!”

There’s been feverish speculation over whether GTA V will be released in 2012, at the tail end of the current generation of games consoles – or whether it will be coming out next year, when next-gen consoles such as the Xbox 720 and Sony PS4 will likely be hitting the shelves.

All they’ve said is that they will release more details, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the release date will be among them.

-Jake.. You are exactly right! Yeah you can’t trust that just because they are releasing new information that this will include an actual release date.

True, but still I’d say 90% sure that they’ll announce release date.

Evan, you do realise the pc release date will more than likely be at least 6 months or more after the console one? Expect to add on at least 6 months to that release date.

If they’re going to release GTA V for next generation consoles, I’d like that.
Then GTA could be an even more vast game on a console up to the job for a massive game!

to be honest i don’t want to be wasting 600$or more on a new console just for getting GTA V a games a game. i don’t care about graphics. i want a good game like GTA SA and thats what i expect, just cause gta IV was released on a next gen console everyone thought it was gonna be amazing but GTA sa still remains the all round winner. i say graphics screw graphics just make a good game.
