Google Music free for all tomorrow

Posted November 15, 2011 by Stuff Staff in News

Google has just announced an event this Wednesday featuring Universal Music. Of course it could just be a friendly get together to chat about who has the biggest CD collection, but it’s more likely going to see the announcement – and maybe even launch – of Google Music.

The Music service is currently available as Google Music Beta, but with Universal Music climbing aboard the good ship Google Music, Android users can expect an earful of fun soon. Sadly Sony, Warner and EMI aren’t confirmed yet, and with no mention of them attending on Wednesday it looks like Google Music is launching with Universal alone for now.

If Google wants to compete with iTunes on its Android devices, there’s going to have to be plenty of music and movies on offer – hopefully Wednesday will be full of good surprises.
