Cheki out-polaroids Polaroid

Were you as equally disheartened as us when the overwhelming sense of joy brought about by the announcement of Polaroid cameras coming back into existence was crushed by a slightly heftier-than-we’d-like price-tag on film?

Well Fujifilm has an alternative for you in the form of their Instax mini50S Cheki. It uses Fujifilm’s Instax Color Film which is drastically cheaper than the Polaroid reissues and is pocket-sized to boot – with a screen measuring 2.4″ x 1.8″. It can take close-ups up to 11.8″ and the focus ranges from 0.6mm to 3m.

The downside? The Cheki is currently only available via mail-order from Japan. But at least if you spring for one it’ll score you even bigger envy points amongst your hipster friends.
