Gmail for iPad gets an update

Posted June 22, 2010 by Stuff Staff in News

There was a nice tidbittidbit from the Google Mobile Blog for us this morning, including the news that Gmail for the iPad is getting a whole new interface.

You can try out the US English version right now (just go to in Safari), where you’ll find a host of changes, most of them in the compose interface. When you go to compose a new email with Gmail, you’ll now get a large, full-screen window instead of the split view that also shows your inbox. It basically gives you more space to type, more akin to a desktop-like experience.

This is the first of many Gmail updates on the iPad, with lots more on the way for Android too. As the blog mentions, this update is for the compose interface, with more updates to follow for varying features.
