Adidas’ F50 adiZero cut the fat, go for speed
You can’t have jerseys without out a kicking pair of boots to go along with. The Adidas F50 adiZero are the lightest boots on the planet (we’re not sure if Adidas counted those little booties you buy for famous footballer’s babies). Weighing in at just 1.65g, it’s made with aptly-named SprintSkin that’s just one layer of microfiber Polyurethane thick. That keeps your toes as lightweight as possible without having to go barefoot.
The F50 also uses asymmetric parallel lacing that gives you a large, clean kicking surface for optimal ball contact for shots and passes while a perforated UltraLight insole has been developed to reduce weight and increase speed.
Which lucky footballer gets to wear these featherweight football boots? Only FIFA World Player of the Year Lionel Messi. And he seems quite chuffed with the boots too:
“I am amazed at how light the new F50 is; I can barely feel them on my feet. Speed on the pitch is a really important part of my game and wearing the world’s lightest boot will hopefully make me faster and enhance my performance during the most important games of the year!”
But just how fast, exactly, can these kickers get you down the other end of the pitch? We’ve no clue, but if you take this video as reality, as fast as Zinedine Zidane speeding through a tunnel in a classic car. Apparently…
